Biography

 Stephany Smith serves as Director of Undergraduate Medical Education at the University of South Carolina School of Medicine Columbia. In this role, she provides administrative and strategic leadership for undergraduate medical education programs, overseeing day-to-day operations and ensuring the delivery of high-quality student services. She is responsible for leading operational initiatives, implementing and sustaining systems that support efficient program administration, and advancing strategic efforts that strengthen program effectiveness and organizational efficiency.

She joined the School of Medicine Columbia in 2023 and brings more than twelve years of progressive leadership experience in higher education and the nonprofit sector, including her work with the University of South Carolina’s Center for Child and Family Studies. Her areas of expertise include project management, process improvement, cross-functional collaboration, strategic planning, financial oversight, and continuous quality improvement.
