Our events evolve to meet the needs of our growing alumni community. Some are one‑time celebrations; others have become beloved traditions that bring graduates back year after year.
Fall brings alumni and their families together at Williams‑Brice Stadium for a relaxed, spirited, family‑friendly game‑day tradition. The 2026 Alumni Football Tailgate event will be Oct. 24, when the Gamecocks host Tennessee.
Each October, we recognize alumni, faculty, staff, students, and friends whose achievements have made a lasting impact. This reception brings our community together to honor recipients of the annual alumni awards, the Dean’s Distinguished Service Awards, and other schoolwide recognitions.
Every spring, Alumni Weekend welcomes graduates from all programs back to Columbia for two days of connection, celebration, and renewed engagement. In April 2026, we highlighted the 45th reunion of our 1981 charter class, the 40th anniversary of the Genetic Counseling program, and milestone MD classes ending in 1s and 6s.
Alumni involvement extends far beyond attending events. Some of the most meaningful contributions come through volunteerism, advocacy, student support, and philanthropic giving — sharing your time, experience, and resources in ways that uplift our community. We’re here to help you connect your interests with opportunities that align with your strengths, so you can make a lasting impact on the Floyd School of Medicine.
