Business Manager Certificate Program

Emerging Leaders Program

ELP (Emerging Leaders Program) prepares early-career, high potential faculty and staff leaders for mid-level leadership positions at USC.  This program develops the leader through skill building focused on influence, collaboration and leading self, others, teams, projects, and change management. Green Certification Program

The Green Certification Program is a voluntary, self-guided initiative that promotes sustainable practices at the University of South Carolina, engaging staff, faculty, and students in making our campus and our world a little greener.  Office of Sustainability  

Harrassment and Discrimination Prevention Training

The Office of Civil Rights and Title IX offers a mandatory Harassment and Discrimination Prevention Training that is required at the University of South Carolina for all university employees system wide. It covers the university policies, laws and procedures that address unlawful discrimination and harassment. Within the first 60 days of employment, new employees will receive a link via email to access online training.  Office of Civil Rights and Title IX  

Inclusive Excellence Education

The Inclusive Excellence Institute education sessions are designed to help individuals and teams deepen their knowledge and understanding of leveraging inclusive excellence through education and lived experiences and applying those skills to action. Office of Access and Opportunity  

Interpersonal Violence Training Program

The university offers training for employees as it relates to interpersonal violence.  Student Health and Well-Being  

Improvement Leader Program

The USC Improvement Leader Program combines practical learning with immediate application. As the program unfolds, participants facilitate start-to-finish improvement projects in their units – and generate real results. Office of Organizational Excellence  

LEAD: Supervisory Essentials

The LEAD (Supervisory Essentials) program, is required for all supervisors of University staff hired into a supervisory position after January 1, 2010 (Policy HR 1.51 [pdf]) and must be completed within 18 months of being hired into a supervisory position. Note: LEAD is for supervisors of staff and HR Contacts; non-supervisors may not attend LEAD.  Office of Organizatioanl and Professional Development  

Managing High Performing Teams Certificate Program

In this certificate program, participants will explore what is required of teams and team leaders to build high performing teams and satisfy these criteria. Office of Organizatioanl and Professional Development  

Pipeline for Academy Leaders (PAL)

PAL prepares mid-level, high-talented, faculty and staff leaders for executive-level leadership positions in higher education.  The program develops the participant with executive leadership education that includes opportunities for self-reflection and individual goal setting, critical skill building to lead and inspire others in achieving college/division goals, and strategies to solve executive-level challenges and transform organizations. Recovery Ally Training

Through Recovery Ally workshops, Gamecock Recovery strives to empower students, faculty and staff to make campus more accepting, engaging, and supportive of students in recovery from substance use disorder. Learn to confront myths about substance use disorder, support someone in early recovery, and advocate for a recovery-oriented campus culture. Substance Abuse Prevention and Education  

Safe Zone Training

A program that builds safe space across campus by visibly identifying students, staff and faculty who support the LGBTQ+ population. The program also offers educational and ongoing engagement opportunities for USC community members to explore and understand issues related to the LGBTQ+ community. Mastering Yourself: A Journey to Self- Mastery

Self-mastery is the ability to take control of your life and begins with developing self-awareness. Learn how to recognize and understand your thought process, habits and behaviors and the way you choose to interact within the world, at work and in your personal life. This interactive, three-part course is available to non-supervisory employees and has a fee to cover the costs for assessments and reading material.

Suicide Prevention Gatekeeper Training

This training aims to teach you the warning signs of a suicidal person and early signs of depression, assist you in gaining confidence in how to respond, and educate you about the resources available at the University of South Carolina.
