Derek Henrichs is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Accounting in the Darla Moore School of Business. He has taught a range of courses at both the undergraduate and master’s levels, including accounting information systems, managerial accounting, financial accounting, auditing, and tax. Derek’s research interests focus on managerial and financial accounting, explored through the lenses of behavioral economics and archival financial data. Prior to USC, he served as affiliated faculty at the University of Virginia and the University of Mississippi. Outside of academia, Derek has provided accounting, finance, and research consulting for organizations across the for-profit and nonprofit sectors. Earlier in his career, he worked as an auditor for HCA Healthcare and interned as a financial analyst with Schneider Electric (Square D). Derek holds a BBA in Accounting from Trevecca Nazarene University, an M.Ed. in Higher Education and Student Affairs from the University of South Carolina, and a Ph.D. in Accounting from the University of Mississippi.
