The University of South Carolina School of Medicine Greenville’s early decision program operates through the AAMC’s Early Decision Program. Under that program, you may apply to one participating EDP school. This program is limited to South Carolina residents.
Important Dates
The early decision program admissions timeline is accelerated.
- May. The AMCAS application opens in early May. You may start submitting materials at the end of May.
- Aug. 1. Early Ddecision Pprograms applications are due in AMCAS.
- Aug. 15. All application materials, including MCAT scores and letters of recommendation, are due in AMCAS. Your supplemental application is due through WebAdMIT. AMP Portal.
- August - September. Interview days are scheduled. If you are not offered an interview as an Early Decision applicant, you will be notified that your application has been deferred to our Regular Decision pool. At that time, you are able to apply to other medical schools. We will continue to evaluate your application through the Regular Decision process.
- Oct. 1. Offers of acceptance must be made by Oct. 1. Accepted students are committed to attending the USC School of Medicine Greenville. If you are not accepted through the Early Decision Program, you will be notified your aplication has been deferred to the regular applicant pool for further consideration or declined. At that time, you are free to apply to other schools.
Application Review
The EDP is most beneficial for applicants who are fully committed to attending the USC School of Medicine Greenville. and have a competitive application. The admissions committee reviews program applications in same a holistic manner as Regular Decision, taking into account academic performance, letters of recommendation, clinical experiences, extracurricular experiences and personal statements/essays.
