Background
Michail Katsigiannis' research focuses on digital twins for manufacturing operations and the cyber-physical infrastructure that supports intelligent manufacturing systems. His research group develops end-to-end digitalization pipelines that combine modeling and simulation with shop-floor sensing, industrial IoT, edge computing, computer vision, robotics, automation, and artificial intelligence. A central goal of his work is to create interoperable, accessible digital manufacturing technologies that small and medium-sized manufacturers and research laboratories can deploy without relying on proprietary platforms.
