Dr. LaTashia R. Reedus has taught women and gender studies courses as one of her areas of interest. She earned her Bachelors in Sociology and African-American Studies from the University of Cincinnati, and received her Masters and Doctorate degrees in Sociology, both from The Ohio State University. Dr. Reedus previously worked at the college level for almost 10 years in multicultural student affairs (specifically as a director of Multicultural Student Affairs) before completing her doctorate studies and changing career paths to move to the teaching side of higher education. She views teaching as a reciprocal relationship between the student and the professor, and this has guided her classroom interaction over her entire career.

As a sociologist, Dr. Reedus has an interest in all things sociological, including the areas of race and ethnicity, gender, intersectionality, deviance/crime, and the impact of human behavior on our environment. As a faculty member, Dr. Reedus has experience teaching in various formats, including face to face, online, and hybrid/web blended classes. She has taught classes in introductory sociology, criminal justice/criminology, women and gender studies, social structures/institutions, society and the environment, and race and ethnicity courses. She has also taught traditional and non-traditional college students, including dual credit high school (College Credit Plus).

Dr. Reedus is a native of Cincinnati, Ohio and currently resides in Pickerington, Ohio with her husband, Derrick, and is the proud parent of four children.
