Charlotte is a first-year history M.A. student originally from Charleston, South Carolina. She received her B.A. in History and English Language & Literature from Furman University, where her undergraduate research focused on the intersection of science, literature, and social policy in modern and early modern Britain. While at Furman, she worked as the student assistant for the history department and served as a peer learning assistant for introductory courses.

Her current research interests include print and “popular” cultures, historiography, and disability studies—particularly in Victorian Britain. In her graduate studies, she hopes to further examine the relationship between the popular press and politics in the US and Britain.
