Current Research Projects

The Baruch Marine Field Laboratory has been the center of research activities for scientists and students from the University of South Carolina and dozens of other institutions since 1969. We conservatively estimate that more than 1,000 grant and institutionally-funded projects have taken place at BMFL.

The Current Research Projects document provides brief summaries of all projects conducted at the BMFL by staff, graduate students, and faculty associated with the University of South Carolina and other institutions in a given calendar year.

Each project summary includes the title, investigators, affiliations, and project abstract.  This list includes only those projects that make regular use of the site.  Most of the studies that involve field measurements and collections are being conducted within the North Inlet–Winyah Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve (NI–WB NERR).
