CircleIn for Supplemental Instruction (SI) Leaders

The Provost’s office has partnered with the Student Success Center to implement CircleIn use in courses with Supplemental Instruction. The CircleIn app has helped bridge the gap between limited resources and growing demand for flexible, accessible academic support. Supplemental Instruction Leaders have been an integral part of the success to improve student learning outcomes.

What is Supplemental Instruction (SI)?

In these peer-led study sessions, trained undergraduate leaders attend classes with USC students and encourage them to explore course concepts. Sessions are open to all students who are looking to enhance their understanding of the material and improve their grades. In select courses, SI leaders use CircleIn to provide extra online support.

What classes have SI support?

You can search for your class on the SI website.

How will SI Leaders use CircleIn?

CircleIn will be the primary method of communication between SI Leaders and their students within their assigned course section. SI Leaders will post announcements, SI session reminders, additional resources, as well as monitor the “Anonymous Question” feature on the CircleIn platform to encourage students seeking support and clarification.

SI Leaders will encourage student usage of the CircleIn platform. The pairing of attending SI sessions with CircleIn usage can lead to higher course performance overall.
