      Honduras Spring Break - 2024

      On this week-long program in 2023, students gained first-hand medical skills in a rural clinic located in Honduras. Capstone Scholars worked alongside doctors and medical students in this unique service learning experience.

      Costa Rica Spring Break - 2024

      During Spring Break 2024, students learned about environmental sustainability first-hand by exploring the rainforest and beaches of Costa Rica.

      Greece Maymester - 2024

      On this 2024 two-week Maymester program students learned how to connect information literacy and technology with their experience in exploring the historic sites of Athens, Greece.

      Chile Maymester - 2023

      Students experienced an intersection of old and new by engaging with UNESCO world heritage sites and technology-focused civics during this two-week 2024 program to Santiago, Chile.

      Portugal Maymester - 2023

      On this two-week experience to sunny Portugal, students experienced locales in Lisbon and Porto that directly inspired beloved and important works of literature.

      Iceland Maymester - 2022

      On this trip, we explored how a different culture affects information consumption while getting to know Iceland through cultural, environmental, and technical literacies.

      Ecuador & Galapagos Maymester 2019

      This two-week experience led our students to serve at the Working Boys Center in Quito, Ecuador, as well as the Andes Mountains, the Mindo Cloud Forest and, of course, the Galapagos Islands.

      Greece & Malta Maymester 2019

      Athens, Santorini and Malta were all a part of this Greco-Mediterranean adventure, as our students learned about the the foundations of Western philosophy in education.

      Amsterdam Maymester 2018

      The Capstone Scholars Program made its first trip to the Netherlands, working in partnership with the Anne Frank House and its expert staff to explore human rights discussions in Amsterdam and the Hague.

      Ireland Maymester 2017

      Students learned about ways in which Irish identity has been shaped and sustained through fictional texts while visiting Dublin, Westport, Galway and the beautiful countryside in between.

      Costa Rica Maymester 2016

      By visiting coral reefs, volcanoes and beaches, students learned about the delicate and ever-changing relationship between humans and their environment.

      Italy Maymester 2015

      From the University of Bologna to Accademia, students traced the rise of the medieval university model by visiting some of the oldest institutions in Europe.
