Inclusive Excellence Education

The Inclusive Excellence Institute education sessions are designed to help individuals and teams deepen their knowledge and understanding of leveraging inclusive excellence through education and lived experiences and applying those skills to action. 

The Inclusive Leadership workshop aims to assist leaders in gaining a deeper understanding of access, opportunity, and inclusion, improving essential leadership qualities, and cultivating a culture of respect in the workplace. It highlights the importance of empathy, active listening, and effective communication to create an environment where everyone feels valued and heard. The workshop prompts leaders to reflect on their behaviors and mindsets, offering a safe space for personal growth and change. Ultimately, the Inclusive Leadership workshop enables leaders to drive positive transformations, making a lasting impact within their organizations and the wider community. By prioritizing continuous learning and growth, these leaders become role models of inclusivity. (60-90 minutes/ 1.5 hours)

Microaggressions can have major impacts within the classroom, workspaces, and community. This workshop allows participants to learn and identify three types of microaggressions and practice the R.A.V.E.N. framework. Through practicing this framework, individuals will learn how to respond effectively to microaggressions in various situations. (60 minutes - 1 hour).

Your Silence Hurts fosters an environment of courageous conversations and respect while creating an opportunity for meaningful dialogue using a common language to speak up against stereotypes, bias, and disrespect. You will gain skills to speak up against stereotypes and microaggressions. (90 minutes - 1.5 hours)

Psychological safety is crucial in promoting inclusive leadership and developing a sense of belonging within a team. This training will introduce participants to the concept of psychological safety and its four stages: Inclusion, Learner, Contributor, and Challenger. The participants will explore methods to create and foster psychological safety to address implicit bias, navigate microaggressions, and handle conflicts efficiently. This training is highly recommended for managers. (60-90 minutes - 1-1.5 hours)

Designed to empower individuals and teams with the principles of honest, empathetic, and effective feedback, this workshop offers practical strategies for fostering a culture of open dialogue and growth. Participants will learn how to navigate the delicate balance between caring personally and challenging directly, unlocking the potential for meaningful connections and constructive conversations. Through interactive exercises and real-world examples, attendees will gain the confidence and skills needed to cultivate a culture of radical candor, driving enhanced collaboration, productivity, and professional development. (90 minutes - 1.5 hours)

In order for employees to be engaged, three key conditions must be met. These conditions have significant implications and include psychological meaningfulness, psychological availability, and psychological safety.  

  • Psychological Meaningfulness: This involves having a compelling reason to engage, where employees perceive their work as valuable and meaningful.
  • Psychological Availability: This concerns having the capacity to engage, ensuring employees have the mental, emotional, and physical resources to be fully involved.
  • Psychological Safety: This encompasses the freedom and security to engage without the fear of negative repercussions.

When these three conditions are met, employees are more likely to invest their full selves into their work, leading to higher productivity, creativity, and job satisfaction. In conclusion, by addressing these three conditions, organizations can cultivate a more engaged and resilient workforce, ultimately driving better outcomes for both the employees and the company. Who you are matters! Writing and telling your story/stories takes courage. Learning about yourself requires vulnerability and honesty as you might discover secrets, stereotypes, values, inequities, bullying, new family history, celebrations, biases, privileges, and traditions. According to Koppelman, knowing our own diversity story helps us understand "all kinds of diversity.” Telling and owning your story can be extremely empowering and often gives voice to those who may have been silenced or excluded. 60-second Truths stories leave individuals with key concepts to focus on their lives, lessons, and experiences. (60-90 minutes - 1-1.5 hours)
